Care Worker Visa

A new category has been added to the UK immigration system that allows trained and qualified healthcare workers to travel to the UK and work in the UK health sector. You can work directly with the NHS, an NHS supplier or in adult social care.
Who can apply from Pakistan?
- You must have completed 14 years of formal education.
- Preference would be given to those who hold a degree of Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or BS in Physical Therapy and psychology.

Pre-Requisites of Eligibility
Your knowledge of English is a must as you must prove that you can read, write, speak, and understand the English language to at least level B1. You can prove your English knowledge by passing a Secure English Language Test (SELT) from an approved provider or by having a degree-level academic qualification that was taught in English.

How Long Can You Stay?
Under the care worker visa category, your visa can last for up to 5 years before you need to extend it. The great news is that it is extendable and when it expires or if you change your job or employer, all you need to do is to apply for an extension. You can apply for extensions as many times as you like as long as you still meet the eligibility requirements. This 5-year visa leads to further extensions and eventually can help you attain permanent residence in the United Kingdom.
How long it takes to secure the Visa?
This depends on various factors; if you need an appointment to present the documents and prove your identity, then it may take a little longer but usually, it takes 3 months, and you can apply accordingly before you are due to start your work in the UK.
